Green Technology Financing Scheme

MGTC's Green Technology Financing Scheme (GTFS) continues to be one of Malaysia's strongest enablers for green economic growth — empowering businesses to access affordable funding for renewable energy, energy efficiency, green manufacturing, sustainable transport, waste management, and water-sector innovation.

Green Technology Financing Scheme

Green Technology Financing Scheme (GTFS)

As announced in 2025 budget, the government continues to support the development of green businesses; GTFS 5.0 has been reinstated with an allocation of RM1.0 billion for the period until 31 December 2026. The financing scheme will provide a 60% to 80% government guarantee on the green component cost financed by Participating Financial Institutions.

The financing scheme comprises five categories, which are Producer, User, Energy Services Company (ESCO), Housing Developer and Low Carbon Mobility Infrastructure. The scheme also targets 6 key sectors, which include Energy, Manufacturing, Building, Transportation, Waste and Water.

Companies must submit all necessary documents along with their applications to the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC). The MGTC will assess, verify and monitor projects to ensure they align with the scheme's criteria. Successful applicants will receive a Green Project Certificate and can be submitted to the Participating Financial Institutions for financing.

On the approved financing amount, the Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) will provide a government guarantee.
