Energy Management Gold Standard (EMGS) is Malaysia's recognition under the ASEAN Energy Management Scheme (AEMAS) for organisations that successfully implement a sustainable energy management system.
The ASEAN Energy Management Scheme (AEMAS), initiated by the ASEAN Centre of Energy (ACE) since 2010, is a regional recognition with the main purpose of managing and reducing energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions in the ASEAN region while promoting best practices in energy management. AEMAS was launched officially in July 2011 and is the first regional certification specifically developed for Southeast Asia with funding from the European Union.
In Malaysia, MGTC was appointed as AEMAS Country Coordinator and Certification Body on behalf of ACE to promote, facilitate and process applications made by end users in the country. Energy Management Gold Standard (EMGS) is a recognition given under AEMAS to end-users who have successfully implemented a sustainable energy management system according to the scheme's requirements.
1-star certification, 2-star certification and 3-star certification.
Same as one-star with the addition of a minimum 5% annual energy reduction from baseline.
To maintain or improve the energy reduction declared in the 2-star assessment while integrating energy management with other standards or organisational initiatives.
